After several years performing in San Francisco, collaborating with Idiot Flesh and other local musicians we began to apply for residencies out of the country. Our first residency was in Tabor, Czech Republic at a performance festival called Cesta (https://artinres.cz/rezidence/cesta/), where we were paired with a band called Sysygambis from France. We had a month to live together and create a performance. While there we created a piece called Four Stages of Cruelty, inspired by Artaud. After this residency we didn't want to go home so we decided to be a touring company. As a touring company, Shinichi Koga and I set out to explore the world. We joined Yumiko Yoshioka (from the original all woman's ensemble called Aridone)

for a performance residency in Graz, Austria. When we first arrived, I was reintroduced to Do Teatr, whom I did not know would be collaborating with Yumiko and so that was a nice surprise and another synchronicity along my Butoh journey. I got to know the dancers and we became lifelong friends. We performed in a giant cave there outside of Graz. After the residency was over, Yumiko asked Shinichi and I to join her dance company called Ten Pen Chii for a performance called Da-ppi. When we arrived at Schloss Bröllin (https://broellin.de/) , (artist residency outside of Berlin in the countryside) it was a dream come true. We loved living in a communal castle with other artists. It was truly a dream. As we began to work together, Yumiko asked me if I would like to design and create the costumes for Da-ppi and so I excitedly agreed. I had designed all the costumes for Urō and so I was inspired to continue costume making. We lived at Schloss Bröllin and performed several dance pieces in Berlin, Italy and at Schloss Bröllin. After leaving Schloss Brollin I went on to tour with Antagon Theatre Aktion and Minako Seki (originally form Dance Love Machine) as well as with Do Teatr.
